Dance Intensive in Madrid
Another CEA and Conservatory student, Cecilia de Socarraz-Novoa, attended a dance intensive program for two weeks in July at “Scaena, Centro de Artes Escénicas” in Madrid, Spain. It was founded in 2002 by Carmen Roche, an internationally renowned dancer and teacher, who started her professional career at the age of 13 with the highly respected flamenco company, “Ballet de Antonio” and has become every teacher’s master teacher. Her center for the performing arts was the first privately owned Conservatory in Madrid to offer official degrees in classical dance, Spanish dance and modern dance. What an amazing opportunity!
Cecilia’s program included intermediate-advanced level in classical dance and intermediate pointe taught by acclaimed dancers Maria Garcia and Emanuelle Broncine.
