South Florida Private School League Basketball Championship

On March 17th, our three basketball teams traveled to Florida City for the South Florida Private School League Championships.

The girls’ team played shut down defense in limiting Colonial Christian to 9 points. Lucia Del Campillo and Gabriella Salandy led the team in rebounding. Isabella Quijano was named the most valuable player of the championship game. This marks our first girl’s title since 2013.

The JV team never traveled in their double digit victory over Treasure Village Montessori. Ethan Baldor and Bryce Miranda led all scorers, while David Echarri led us in rebounding. The title is our second in the last three years.

Finally, the Varsity team lost a hard fought game against a superior Rainbow Christian team. Vincenzo Rotunno played his best game of the year in leading the last line of defense in rebounding. Jason Jova also played his best game, while isolating the other team’s best offensive player. Javier Salvat was named the most valuable player from the North. We are so proud of our Upper School basketball teams for an amazing season!

Thank you to our coaches, Coach Carlos, Coach Danny, and Coach Jon, for their dedication to their teams and for the care with which you continuously lead our athletes in their growth!Go Cougars!
