2020 taught us many lessons.
One of the most important was to always be ready for change.Ms. Jolliff was ready to retire and we had made plans to make an announcement after Easter of 2020 and celebrate her more than 35 years at Conchita by dedicating our Festival to her. Then COVID happened and, being who she is, she decided to stay another year to help us ride the storm.
Ms. Jolliff is part of the soul and essence of Conchita. She came to the school at a time of transition. We had just moved from our small building in Little Havana and were about to embark into a new adventure. She quickly became my right hand and a staunch believer and supporter of Conchita’s vision. She is a tireless worker, a loving and ethical leader. She is wise, loyal and compassionate. She gives her best and trusts others to do the same. Most of all, she is a teacher.Sandi is best described by the smiles on our children’s faces, by the respect of her teachers, by the admiration of her peers, the trust of the parents, and by the lives of her former students.
We all celebrate with you, Ms. Jolliff. We wish you health, joy, and much love. Have fun. Enjoy your family, your nieces and nephews, and your beautiful garden.
Thank you for your legacy of kindness and wisdom. Thank you for leaving a paved road for those continuing Conchita’s vision. You built for the future.
Much love and gratitude,
Maribel Z. Diaz
