Congratulations to Mila Diaferia (3rd grade) and Olivia Gomez (8th grade) for winning first place in their respective categories in the Certamen Literario “Me Gusta el Español” 2023-2024.
Mila won first place among elementary students in Miami-Dade County for her Spanish essay around the theme, “Vamos al Cine,” and Olivia (8th grade) won first place among Miami-Dade middle school students for her literary illustration. Mila and Olivia worked with Ms. Magaly and Ms. Alina on their respective entries in their Spanish classes.
In addition, two more students’ illustrations were featured in the final publication: Juan Pablo Broche (5th grade) and Daniella Iglesias (6th grade).
There was an awards ceremony on April 11th at Miami-Dade College, for which the Senior Music Mastery and Senior Voice Mastery performed and did a beautiful job!

Mila ganó primer lugar entre los estudiantes de primaria en el condado de Miami-Dade por su ensayo en español sobre el tema “Vamos al Cine”, y Olivia (8vo grado) ganó primer lugar entre los estudiantes de secundaria de Miami-Dade por su ilustración literaria. Mila y Olivia trabajaron con la Ms. Magaly y la Ms. Alina en sus respectivas entradas en sus clases de español.
Además, en la publicación final aparecieron ilustraciones de dos estudiantes más: Juan Pablo Broche (5to grado) y Daniella Iglesias (6to grado).
