The Festival of the Arts has been a Conchita tradition since the school’s very beginning.
The Festival of the Arts, a tradition since 1933, brings together children of all ages to work with our faculty of internationally renowned dancers, choreographers, musicians, and visual artists to showcase their talent and artistic development and share the profound effect that the arts can have on young lives.
To make it even more special, this Festival will be our first at the Adrienne Arsht Center Ziff Ballet Opera House. The Arsht is home to Miami City Ballet, Florida Grand Opera, Broadway in Miami, and the Miami Symphony Orchestra. To give our children access to this stage is an experience they will treasure for the rest of their lives.
The Festival is not only for students registered in the Conservatory. From CEA music classes to artwork and writing across grade levels, everyone is involved. While the Festival is a one-day performance, its significance as a part of the CEA experience extends far beyond “showtime.”
There are a multitude of life lessons that come with participating in a production of this size and caliber – lessons in discipline, collaboration, respect, patience, responsibility, problem solving, teamwork, gratitude, confidence, and conquering fears, among many others. These lessons can only be learned by doing.
We invite all present, past, and future CEA students to join us in this 93-year celebration of the arts!
