Elina M. Santana, Esq. is an immigration attorney in her 10th year of practice focusing on family-based immigration and deportation defense. Ely was a student at CEA from pre-primary through eighth grade. “CEA taught me so many wonderful things. My years there shaped my sense of self. My teachers taught me how to develop independent thought, how to SPEAK UP against injustice, and most importantly, taught me the importance of empathy,” she explains. Her main takeaway from CEA: “Spend your life doing what you are passionate about, whatever that may be; be the best lawyer, musician, or [fill in the blank] you can be; and take care of yourself and each other above all else.”
