2008-2009

The 2nd Grade culminated their unit of study on fairy tales with a Fairy Tale Ball.

The Queens of 2nd Grade, Mrs. Estevez, Mrs. Llerena, and Mrs. Torres, reigned supreme with the help of fairy godparents to insure that all our magical royalty enjoyed the day which included a visit from the Big Bad Wolf, who explained that he was just misunderstood, and a visit from the Queen of the Fairies. A courtly dance, entertainment, and royal delicacies rounded out this culminating event.

2nd Graders enjoyed A Night Under the Stars as part of their unit on space.

Mr. Marlin (Mrs. Marlin's husband) brought his great telescope and spoke about space.  Parents had also set up telescopes and students brought binoculars to view the night sky, which was a bit cloudy, but beautiful all the same.

2nd Graders explore the world of watercolors.

As 2nd graders study geography, they enjoy celebrating the beginnings of Chinese New Year with a parade including music and their hand made dragon masks.

The 2nd Grade production of The Nativity reminded all of us of the beauty and innocence of the Christmas season.

What a joy it was to behold.  Thank you, Ms. Loly, Ms. Danella, Mrs. Raymat, Mrs. Estevez, Mrs. Torres, Mrs. Llerena and all the parents and teachers who helped with this memorable performance.
