CEA Middle School Choir
performed at Carnegie Hall

CEA's Middle School Choir was invited to join a group of 150 voices for a Memorial Day Concert in the Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall on May 29 by Dr. Patrick Freer, a professor of choral music from Georgia State University.
Dr. Freer first met the choir and their director, Ms. Loly Lopez, at the UM Honor Choir in 2008, where he was conducting a workshop. He was so impressed with their demeanor and preparedness, that he invited them to be part of this amazing opportunity--a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York.
The seventeen members of the choir who were able to sing at Carnegie Hall and their chaperones had a wonderful time in New York. The pictures below show the group arriving at the airport, on the bus, having fun at a restaurant, posing at the hotel along with Ms. Loly and some of their moms, in-between rehearsals at the hotel, and posing with their Carnegie Hall conductor, Dr. Patrick Freer.
All pictures were provided by CEA teacher, Mrs. Campos--proud mom of choir member, Martha!
