Books for Breakfast
We had two very special guest readers at this morning's Student Council Books for Breakfast.
Our beloved hall monitor, Minerva, read a Spanish story to our little ones called, El Soldadito de Plomo. With her contagious enthusiasm, and her granddaughter, Isabel, as her assistant, she told the story of a little soldier who teaches us about courage and perseverance.
The guest reader for our older students was Dr. Godavarty, the mother of our 5th Grade Vice President, Diya Agarwal. Dr. Godavarty is a Biomedical Engineering professor at F.I.U. She is passionate about math and science wanted to share her love of these subjects with our students. By reading excerpts from the Who Was? book series, she told the stories of two people in history who have inspired her: Neil Armstrong and Marie Curie. The students were curious to learn more about them, and she inspired many to want to continue reading their biographies.
Thank you for inspiring our kids and for sharing your time with us this morning!
